Daocheng Yading is located in Shangri-La Town, Daocheng County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The main attractions of Daocheng Yading include the three sacred mountains of Xiannairi, Yangmai Yong, and Xianoduoji, as well as the Pearl Lake, Milk Lake, and Five-Color Lake. Visitors can enjoy views of snow-capped mountains, lakes, and alpine meadows.

Daocheng Yading, this mysterious land tucked away in Yading Village, Daocheng County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is hailed as “the last pristine land on the water-blue planet.”

Nestled in the Hengduan Mountains where Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet converge, it marks the boundary between China’s first and second topographic levels and serves as the transition zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Here, you can experience the grandeur and mystery of nature.

Daocheng Yadingis not a place name, but a scenic area around Yading Village in Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Its full name is ‘Daocheng Yading National Nature Reserve”, known as the “Soul of Shangri-La” and “the last Shangri-La”, it is one of the most preserved and primitive alpine natural ecosystems in China.

(1) Geological Landscape (San Shen Shan: Xian Nai Ri, Yang Mai Yong, Xia Nuo Duo Ji)

Xian Nai Ri(6032 meters) means “Guanshiyin Bodhisattva’ in Tibetan. It is the highest peak in Daocheng. The Xian Nairi in the reflection of the Pearl Sea is like a giant crystal suspended on the lake.

Yang Mai Yong(5958 meters), the peak of Manjushri Bodhisattva, which symbolizes the god of wisdom, is hailed by explorer Locke as “the most beautiful mountain in the world.” Atthe end of the wooden plank road in Luorong Cattle Farm, wildflowers are covered with carpets in summer. We will feel visually oppressive when we shoot back between the snow peaks and the meadow.

Xia Nuo Duo Ji(5958 meters) is the angry incarnation of Vajrayana Bodhisattva, with pyramid-shaped mountains with sharp edges and corners like knives.

Milk Sea: An alpine lake with an altitude of 4,600 meters above sea level. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and grasslands, the lake is clear and blue, which can reflect the snow-capped mountains well. Standing by the lake, there is a sacred and peaceful atmosphere.

Five-color sea: Located between Sennai Ri and Yangmaiyong, the plants and minerals at the bottom of the lake will show different colors when exposed to sunlight. It is the sacred lake in the hearts of the locals.

Pearl Sea: The closest to Sennai Ri, it is a classic location for shooting Sennai Ri’s reflection.
